It has being so long that i didn’t update my website. This shoot was a old shoot during 2011 chinese new year if not mistaken. And recently I involve back in producing HDR image. After few tweaks, this is the outcome. Hope you’ll like it.

This few months, I tried a few color setting and I’ve produce different type of color that might represent different type of feel in some photo. This is the quite easy setting and I’ve make it a action in my photoshop.

In year 2011, a chinese (not sure – from Malaysia, now in US) has invented a new machine to capture photograph. And the company or the machine call Lytro. Which the inventor said it uses the technology to capture light field around the “spot”. Then you can refocus anytime you want to choose which subject you want to focus on. And they claimed by using this technology, you will never out-of-focus, like you always did in conventional camera.
In conventional camera, they use a image sensor to capture images, include all the details like brightness and color. But this technology uses light field sensor, specially to capture light field. The light field sensor captures the color, intensity and vector direction of the rays of light. According to the inventor, the light field is a core concept in imaging science, representing fundamentally more powerful data than in regular photographs. The light field fully defines how a scene appears. It is the amount of light traveling in every direction through every point in space. Conventional cameras cannot record the light field. So in this way, Lytro camera can focus an image after the capture process. So you can concentrate on composition or how to frame the photo instead of need to adjust shutter speed, ISO, aperture and so on. However, this Lytro will not produce JPEG file like a conventional cameras do. But it produce swf or called shockwave file (by flash). This is an sample of image capture by Lytro and you can click at anywhere to refocus.
This post might not related with photography, but my old skills that I still own till now. XP (FYI, my minor in University is IT. And I start designing and servicing since year 2001) Since I saw a lot of people using so many email accounts and need to check into so many websites, so I break the rule once for me to post something not related with photography here. Talking about this morning, Kien.my has being hack by someone… forgotten the name, which is not important for me anyway. Oh, for those who hack Kien.my, I hope u can stop doing it, because my website not earning million per month or very attractive, so no point u keep hacking my website for nothing. So stop wasting my time and ur time as well, if you are not an idiot, u should understand what I mean here.
Ok, back to the topic, this tutorial is to teach you to link your other email to gmail, then you can check your emails like yahoo mail, hotmail, or your own company emails.
1, what you need to do is, if you have a gmail account, login and then goto the top right of the screen, then goto email setting. 
2, you see something like this, goto Accounts and Import.
3, find a button with text “add POP3 email account” to add in your account.
4, u’ll see a window popup to ask you add your email account, after you fill in your email address, click next step. for this tutorial, I use kien@kien.my.
5. Then, type in your label or name you want to appear if email fetched into your gmail.
6. After that, key in your username. Remember that your username must be your full address. And if you are using own email server, make sure you know what is your incoming mail server address. for example: pop3.kien.my. Then TICK the label incoming message then choose your option you want. And the port number, u can leave it default by 110 unless it failed, then you find out your server incoming mail server port. To continue, click add account.
7. After that, you’ll see this window, asking you if you want to send email through this email. So, in this window, you can choose to send email through gmail server, which is much more easy step but in receiver email will show the email u send is sent by gmail. Unless you mind that you want the receiver know you send your email through your server, like mail sent by kien.my, then you go for the second option. send through (domain.com) smtp server. So, in this point, you also need to know your server outgoing domain, depends on your server setting. In this tutorial, I use this example smtp.kien.my. And also you need to make sure you got the correct port number. You may check mail server and port number at mail client configuration in your server.
Username and password is the same as your incoming username and password.
8. Finally, you need to verify your account to send email from your pop3 email. The email will send to your pop3 email, contain confirmation link and verify number. You can just click the link or copy the verify number to the last window shown below.
9. So this is what you can see in your email account.
10. If you are using gmail as your outgoing server, then the receiver will see this:
11. If you are using your own server as outgoing server, then the receiver will see this，but actually this email was compose in gmail, but gmail send this email using my outgoing server:
So, I hope you can enjoy your new way to check your email. Since technology is suppose to make life easy, so this is what we suppose to do, make life even easier.

I got invitation from one of Nikon dealer to join this photoshooting. My condition not that good that few days because of diarrhea for 3 days, after having my pizza as dinner while I was in KL. My Dr said I cant take cheese. How pity that is.. I love cheese… Anyway, I have great time with these models, talented and giving full cooperation even they are exhausted. Looking forward if I have chance to shoot with them again, credited to Chistina, Dewina, Cheryl, Jeannie and Venesa.

Photography is a very subjective world. There is no right or wrong. Just like people always argue bout “photoshop or not photoshop”. So I found an article posted by my idol.. use to be my sifu for short time.. but yet learn so much from him. He stated that photoshop is like makeup. You got a pretty girl, and you makeup a little bit to make her even more pretty. Or in my way, I would say that, photoshop is like a dish. A good cook who can cook very well, but then he must know how to present the dishes in a nice plate, with some color source, to make the dishes looks “nice”, well, it help to increase appetite. So as photography, LOTS of people call themselves as photographer, I guess I’m one of them.. lol.. So, what make a photo signature different beside a watermark at the bottom of the photo? for me, is the way a photographer present a photo. How he or she make the photo “his/her way”. Rather than a simple color that everyone can take.
So this is my 2nd attempt on Lightroom. It really save me a lot of time.

I am not that use to this type of editing. But after a few review of some photo, I give myself a try.

Last Saturday, I finally received my new Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VRII. I was so excited to get it that it was in my wish list a year ago. And now, it comes true. So I had few test shoot with it 2 hours after I receive my new lens. Overall, this is a super sharp lens I ever had.
